Privacy policy
This page states, without hedging, what this site records, what it is used for, how long I keep it and what you can ask for. If anything here is unclear, write to the contact at the end and I will fix the text.
Who processes the data
José Guilherme, responsible for josetilabs.com. Contact for any data matter: [email protected].
What is recorded
While you are just reading: no cookies, no third-party scripts, no browsing profile built. The only script that runs is this site's own, and it measures reading time, as explained right below.
Server access log: date and time, page requested, response code, country
and point of presence reported by the edge network, whether the visitor looks like a person
or a bot, and the IP address. The IP is written in reduced form (only the network,
such as 192.0.2.x) on normal visits; in full only when the response is an
error, which is the case where it helps to identify abuse. These files last
30 days and are not cross-referenced with any other information.
Reading measurement: when the page leaves your screen, your browser sends an anonymous signal saying whether the page was really opened and how many seconds it stayed visible, along with the screen width range and the language. This signal uses no cookie, stores nothing on your device and creates no visitor identifier: the number that ties the measurements of one reading together is drawn on the spot and dies with the page. Without it, the server could not tell a person reading from a program downloading the file.
E-mail list (only if you subscribe): the address you typed, the date and the exact text of the consent you ticked. Nothing else.
What I use it for
The access log is for security and for counting reads. Your e-mail is for telling you when new text is out. I do not sell, rent or hand over the list, and I do not use your address for anything else.
Legal basis
Consent, for the e-mail (article 7, I, of the Brazilian LGPD); legitimate interest, for the access log with a security purpose (article 7, IX).
Who it is shared with
Nobody. Delivering the site goes through an international edge network, which means connection data travels outside Brazil; that is inherent to serving pages through such a network. The e-mail list is stored on my own infrastructure. When e-mail delivery starts, it will be through a contracted provider acting only as an operator to hand over the message: its name and policy will be published here before the first send.
For how long
The e-mail is kept while you want to receive. When you leave, I keep only the record of the exit request, which serves to prove nothing else is sent. Access logs last 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask, at any time and at no cost, for confirmation, access, correction, anonymisation, portability, deletion and withdrawal of consent. Write to [email protected] and I answer within 15 days. Leaving the list requires no login: every message sent will carry the exit link. While delivery has not started, just ask by e-mail and I remove the address.
Cookies
There are no cookies for site visitors. The author area, used only by the owner, uses a session cookie to keep authentication; it never reaches visitors.
Automated decisions
There is no profiling and no automated decision about you.
Changes to this policy
